Just completed the digital version of the poster for the Call Me Lightning / Zebras / The Hussy / The Transgressions show at The Project Lodge on Thursday, August 19. This show should be over the top, with one of the best local lineups of the summer opening for one of Milwaukee’s best bands in a tiny little venue.

In case you missed Call Me Lighting one of the last times they came through town when the opened for Monotonix at the High Noon Saloon, here’s a pic from their set:

If you want to see more of the photos from that show, I’ve got them on flickr, otherwise see you at The Project Lodge!

Last night’s Manic Zamboni / Zebras show was hot hot blistering hot. Check out some more photos of the night at my good ol’ flickr page.

Zebras show tonight

Zebras!!!

The Zebras are playing a show tonight with the Czarbles and Manic Zamboni at The Frequency. Rumor has it that this could be their only Madison, WI show (or show anywhere) for a very long time, and that’s a shame. They put on one of the best shows in town. I for one will miss seeing them every month or so if its true.

dance dance dance your face off

The day after The Queers concert at The Frequency, I was back for more. This time, it was local math/twitch rockers Kitty Rhombus with friends Shooter Grey Suede, Shane Shane, and Zebras trying their damndest to get people dancing.

Two of my favorite bands…

 Oh no he di'nt!

…from Madison played the Mad Rollin’ Dolls season finale after party at the High Noon Saloon on Saturday, May 17th. If you want to skip the reading and go straight to the pictures, click here.

Starting out the night, and no offense to the opening band but the night doesn’t start until I get there and I was late, was Zebras. A noisy, punky, chunky, fast band that tore through a ton of cover songs. The most memorable of the night was the set-ending cover of Bad Brains that was so blistering it rivaled the original.

Next up, and finishing the night too, was Screamin’ Cyn Cyn & the Pons. You’ve probably seen them before, or read about them here, and this was only different in the sense that they seemed to play a much tighter/faster version of everything at this show. I guess the energy from Zebras set probably rubbed off to a degree, but they tend to do this at the Glass Nickel too when they play there, and god bless ‘em for it… More speedier = More funerer + More sleepytime for Joey.

Wondering why I needed the sleep? I’ll be posting about the 4,000 mile road trip soon…
