Wouldn't it be nice if Joe could make a living at photography? Instead he has to slave away at a day job and even pick up more graphic design work on the side just to get by.
In case you missed Call Me Lighting one of the last times they came through town when the opened for Monotonix at the High Noon Saloon, here’s a pic from their set:
If you want to see more of the photos from that show, I’ve got them on flickr, otherwise see you at The Project Lodge!
Kurt, from The Leftovers, is coming back to town again. This time with The Goodnight Process, a band that he just joined recently. They’re a power-pop band that I could imagine hearing on the radio in the not-to-distant future. Sloan, in my mind, is a good comparison band.
This tour with The Stereo Flys (Boston, MA) started out in Portland, ME, with us in mind as the furthest west point. Hopefully you’ll come out and take a listen, maybe dance a little, and bring some beer if you want some.
Yeah, Far does have a new album coming out. At Night We Live will be available on May 25th. But, I think I may have to pre-order this one on their website.
As much as I hate to say it, I’ve officially been converted to being a fan of faux-lomo photos. You’ll see some of my own later today here, and on a new blog I’m snappin’ for sometimes.
My buddy Eric Baillies captured some really nice photographs of the Taalbi Brothers at Talula’s a few nights ago. You should check them out on his flickr.
The Zebras are playing a show tonight with the Czarbles and Manic Zamboni at The Frequency. Rumor has it that this could be their only Madison, WI show (or show anywhere) for a very long time, and that’s a shame. They put on one of the best shows in town. I for one will miss seeing them every month or so if its true.
The Hussy played a surprise set after The Honey Slides at Mickey’s Tavern last month. Yeah! Anyhow, this post is to let you know to Chickety Czech out the blog / record label that Bobby (of the Hussy) has going. It’s called Kind Turkey.
So, Jessica and I got into watching some classic hip hop videos last night, and this one was probably the most memorable for me, having grown up in the grunge era and all. I did tend towards hip hop, but The Goats put it over the top for me. A rap group with live band and mosh pit? (keep in mind RATM wasn’t around yet) I still remember having both of their full lengths and a handful of CD-singles, too. Anyhow, you can find out more about them at their website and listen to more of their music on their MySpace.
